What this site is
BdayNote is a small, independent site of birthday images to send. Right now there are 21 cards across 3 sections, with roughly 14733 words of text written with an AI language model. The numbers on this page are calculated from the collection, not typed by hand — they change on their own when the collection changes.
Who writes it
This site does not use an invented byline. There is no photo and no biography under the text, because that person would not exist. The card texts and the page texts you read here are written with AI language models.
This English has not been proofread by a professional copyeditor. The finished cards are checked by software against the declared words, but that only checks the card lettering, not the prose. We say so here because a reader cannot verify it by looking.
What you will not find here
- No photographs of people. Not even stock photography. A birthday card has to work for anyone who receives it, and a stranger’s face does not help.
- No protected characters. We do not draw film, cartoon, or brand characters, and we do not approximate their style.
- No data about you. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics or traffic measurement, shows no advertising, and stores nothing on your device. The typefaces are hosted here, no request leaves this site for third-party servers, and Privacy spells out how requests are handled.
How the images are made
The drawing and the words follow two separate paths, and that is the most important part of the whole process. The drawing carries no writing at all; the greeting is added afterward, as real text, taken from a text file written with an AI language model. Why is explained in full in How We Work.
Every subject is also checked against a reference list of names and characters before it is drawn. That list is real and measured for this site’s own language — 102 blocked names, 8 cleared generic subjects, 18 open questions — but it is a ruling record, not a trademark search, and it says so on every row. The site’s own head phrase, “happy birthday,” is itself one of the open questions rather than a cleared one; see How We Work for what that means.
Corrections
Reports come in through Contact. A typo in the text on a card is the single most useful report we can receive: the words are the product, and a mistake there makes the image unusable. When we correct a card, the date at the bottom of its page changes.
